This is my new, favorite camera: good video at 1080p, and 24 Megapixel stills.  The sensor is good enough to get the moon exposed, and even auto-focused.

This is NOT cheap, but it’s completely solid video.  I’ve been shooting a lot of 2kx60, and it is butter smooth!

This is a good starter camera, and an inclusive kit, to get you learning about exposure and composition.

This is an entry-level at best camera, and the 4K is a joke.  However, it can do 1080p pretty well, as long as you keep to 50+ frames per second (it ‘jumps’ at 30 fps).

Good for video (stm focuses faster in vidoe mode)

Good for and street photography: With a crop camera, this is 35-40 mm equivalent

This is great for big-sky work, whether sunrise, stars, meteors, or lightning

There is a slight blue-bias in low light, but that’s easy to fix in post

mmmm.Bokeh (shoot wide-open, and get pretty background blur)

On a crop sensor, this is a great portrait lens (80 mm equiv)

I have the non-stabilized version, which is < $200

By itself, this is a basic lens, but if you add either macro tubes or a tele-extender, this becomes a really nice lens.  On a crop sensor, with a 1.4 extender, you can get about 650mm or so.  That makes for nice sun or moon shots.

This is a ‘kit lens’, which has become my day-to-day street lens.  It has decent stabilization, and a nice range.
